Gadchjroli :-Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863 in Calcutta. His father’s name was Vishwanath Dutt and his mother’s name was Bhuvaneshwari Devi. His father was a lawyer by profession. His mother belonged to religious Vrutti,Swami Vivekananda’s parents gave him good manners from his childhood. Swami Vivekananda was a Hindu thinker. His birthday is celebrated as “National Youth Day”. His real name was Narendra. Swami Vivekananda was a gifted intellect from his childhood. He acquired deep knowledge of philosophy, religion, history, social, science, art and literature etc. Along with this, he thoroughly studied Hindu scriptures like Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Ramayana, Mahabharata. Swami Vivekananda was not only brilliant in Vedanta and studies but also skilled in sports and physical exercise. Today’s students should take their example.
Great gurus like Ramakrishna Paramahansa came in his life. Ramakrishna initiated him and named him Swami Vivekananda. Ramakrishna made him realize Kalimata. He started the Ramakrishna Mission to convey the message of Ramakrishna to the masses. He gave speeches in India and the West and spread Hindu
He established Ramakrishna Mission and Ramakrishna Math in various places in the world. And the main task of this mission was to introduce the philosophy of Hinduism to the world. This mission undertook the valuable work of social service by establishing hospitals, orphanages and hostels in many places.
In 1893, Swami Vivekananda gave a speech at the World Conference of Religions held in Chicago, USA. When he exclaimed, “My dear brothers and sisters”, there was a two-minute applause. Convinced that it is
Swami Vivekananda was a supernatural great man who created a relationship of universal brotherhood by accepting only religion and social service in his life. His precious thoughts continue to inspire the world today.
Such a great saint took Samadhi on 4th July 1902 at Belur Mutt in Calcutta.
