Two Hardcore Maoists surrender before Gadchiroli Police and CRPF during TCOC

•They carried a total reward of Rs. 18 Lakhs

• One DVCM and one Party Member ranked Maoists surrender before Gadchiroli Police & CRPF.

Disillusioned by the hollow claims of Maoism and frustrated by their mindless violence against civilians, a large number of members of the banned CPI (Maoist) are attracted to the Surrender cum Rehabilitation Policy implemented by the Government of Maharashtra since 2005. Thanks to the effective implementation of this Policy, a total of 702 active Maoists till date have surrendered before the Gadchiroli Police. Today ie. on 27/02/2025, two hardcore Maoists viz. 1) Kanta @ Kantakka @ Mandi Galu Pallo (DVCM, Supply Team), Age-56 years, R/o Gudanjur (Rith), Tah. Bhamragad, Dist. Gadchiroli and 2) Suresh @ Warlu Irpa Majji (Party Member, Bhamragad LOS), Age-30years, R/o Miladapalli, Tah. Bhamragad, Dist. Gadchiroli have surrendered before Gadchiroli Police and CRPF.

 

Information about Surrendered Maoists:

 

1. Name: Kanta @ Kantakka @ Mandi Galu Pallo

 

 Tenure in Maoist Organization:

• Recruited in Madded LOS in 1993 and worked until 1995.

• From 1995 to 1998, worked as Member of Platoon No. 02 in North Gadchiroli.

• Transferred to Bhamragad LOS in 1998 and worked as Member until 2001.

• Promoted to Dy.Commander of Permili LOS in 2001 and worked until 2003.

• Transferred to Chatgaon LOS in 2003 and worked as Dy.Commander until 2006.

• Promoted to ACM (Area Committee Member) in 2006 and worked until 2008 in Tipagad LOS.

• Promoted to DVCM (Divisional Committee Member) in 2008 and worked with KMS (Krantikari Mahila Sanghatan) organization in Tipagad, Chatgaon and Kasansur LOS until 2015.

• Transferred to Staff/Supply Team of Maad area in 2015 and worked as DVCM till date.

 

• Offences regd.: –

 

A total of 11 crimes have been registered against her, Including 07 – Encounters, 01- Arson and 03- Other offences.

 

2. Name: Suresh @ Warlu Irpa Majji

 

 Tenure in Maoist Organization:

• Recruited as Member of Bhamragad LOS in 2021 and worked until September 2024.

• From September 2024, worked as bodyguard for DVCM Raju Veladi @ Kalamsai (Bhamragad LOS) till date.

 

 

 

• Offences regd.: –

 

01 crime of involving in encounter has been registered against him. Details of his involvement in other violent incidents is being verified.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Reasons for their surrender:

• Due to the continuous patrolling by Gadchiroli police, it had become difficult to move around in the forest.

• Senior Maoist cadres don’t pay attention to medical problems of party members.

• During encounters, male Maoists ran away leaving woman Maoists to fend for themselves and often got killed.

• Fellow tribals were killed based solely on suspicion of being police informers.

• Women are badly discriminated against by senior Maoists.

• Senior Maoists instructed us to collect money for the movement/people, but they actually used that money for themselves, never for people’s development.

• Senior Maoists exploited the poor tribal youths only for their benefit.

 

 Rewards on their arrest / encounter:

 

• Maharashtra Government had announced a reward of Rs.16 lakhs on Kanta@Kantakka @ Mandi Galu Pallo.

 

• Maharashtra Government had announced a reward of Rs. 02 lakhs on Suresh @ Warlu Irpa Majji

 

 Reward on surrender:

• After surrender, Kanta @ Kantakka @ Mandi Galu Pallo will receive Rs. 8.5 Lakhs as reward declared by the Central Government & Maharashtra Government for rehabilitation.

• After surrender, Suresh @ Warlu Irpa Majji will receive Rs. 4.5 Lakhs as reward declared by the Central Government & Maharashtra Government for rehabilitation.

 

 

Due to the intensified Anti-Maoist operations conducted by Gadchiroli Police and the golden opportunity provided by the Government of Maharashtra for Maoists to surrender and lead a respectful life, 55 hardcore Maoists have surrendered before the Gadchiroli Police from the year 2022 till date. This is the 22nd surrender of this year till date. This action was carried out under the guidance of Shri. Sandip Patil, Special Inspector General of Police (ANO) Nagpur, Shri. Ankit Goyal, DIG, Gadchiroli Range, Shri. Ajai Kumar Sharma, DIG (Ops.) CRPF, Shri. Neelotpal, SP Gadchiroli & Shri. Parvinder Singh, Commdt. 192 Bn. CRPF. Shri Neelotpal, SP, Gadchiroli has assured that all necessary assistance would be provided to those willing to surrender and join the mainstream society, embracing the ways of democracy. Furthermore, he appealed to active Maoists to renounce the path of violence and adopt the path of peace and join the mainstream of development.
