One Hardcore Maoist cadre surrenders before Gadchiroli Police & CRPF

Disillusioned by the hollow claims of Maoism and frustrated by their mindless violence against civilians, a large number of members of the banned CPI (Maoist) are attracted to the Surrender cum Rehabilitation Policy implemented by the Government of Maharashtra since 2005. Thanks to the effective implementation of this Policy, a total of 673 active Maoists till date have surrendered before the Gadchiroli Police. Today i.e. on 30/08/2024 hardcore Maoist viz. Kedar @ Manya Kinjo Naitam, Area Committee Member, Technical Team West Sub Zonal Bureau, Age-42 years, R/o Kosmi No-01, Tah. Dhanora, Dist. Gadchiroli has surrendered before Gadchiroli Police.

1. Name: Kedar @ Manya Kinjo Naitam
Tenure in Maoist Organization:
• From 2002 to 2007 he was active in Tipagad LOS as member.
• From 2007 to 2012 worked in Technical Team North Gadchiroli Division.
• From 2012 to 2020 he was active in Tipagad area platoon no.15
• Promoted to A.C.M. and worked in Technical Team-West Sub Zonal Bureau in 2020 and worked till date.

In 2004, he was directly involved in an exchange of fire in Manewara and Bandur forest area.
In 2014, he was directly involved in an exchange of fire in Botezari forest area.
In 2016, he was directly involved in an exchange of fire in Darachi forest area.

Reasons for his surrender :
• Aggressive anti-Naxal operations of Gadchiroli Police, has broken the back of Maoist activities.
• Senior Maoists direct to collect money for the movement/people, but they actually used that money for themselves, never for people’s development.
• Married party members could not live an independent married life.
• Senior Maoists use the poor tribal youths for their own benefit.
• Senior cadres force to kill innocent tribal’s only on suspicion of being police informers.
• The so called revolution has lost public support and base in Gadchiroli district.
Reward on his arrest / encounter:
• Maharashtra Government had announced a reward of Rs. 06 lakhs on Kedar @ Manya Kinjo Naitam
Reward on surrender:
• After surrender, Kedar @ Manya Kinjo Naitam will receive Rs. 4.5 Lakhs as reward declared by the Central Government & Maharashtra Government for rehabilitation.
Due to the intensified anti-Maoist operations conducted by Gadchiroli Police and the golden opportunity provided by the Government of Maharashtra for Maoists to surrender and lead a respectful life, 25 hardcore Maoists have surrendered before the Gadchiroli Police from the year 2022 till date. This action was carried out under the guidance of Shri. Sandip Patil, Special Inspector General of Police (ANO) Nagpur, Shri. Ankit Goyal, DIG, Gadchiroli Range, Shri. Ajay Kumar Sharma, DIG (Ops.) CRPF, Shri. Neelotpal, SP Gadchiroli., Shri. Jasbir Singh, Commdt. 113 Bn. CRPF. This action was facilitated by PSI Vishwambhar Karale Officer in Charge of AOP Sawargaon. Shri Neelotpal, SP, Gadchiroli, assured that all necessary assistance would be provided to those willing to surrender and join the mainstream society, embracing the ways of democracy. Furthermore, he appealed to active Maoists to renounce the path of violence and adopt the path of peace and join the mainstream of development.
